Philip Dimick
Sparano + Mooney Architecture
I am a licensed architect practicing in Salt Lake City at Sparano + Mooney Architecture. The bulk of my professional experience over the last 4 years has been with performing arts facilities, with some various other experience in hospitality and single-family residences. I received my master in architecture from the University of Illinois at the end of 2009 and have been living in Salt Lake City since early 2010. I believe architecture is an integral part of any culture in that its values are inherent in the spaces they construct. I believe simplicity in design is undervalued and strive toward a reductionist architecture that allows one to emphasize but also find interest in explo activity within a space over the space itself. Lastly, I find interest in the construct of satirical architecture as a means to study or critique the world around us.
Eric Egenolf
Process Studio
Eric Egenolf graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture and Minor in Engineering Studies from Carnegie Mellon University in 2001.  Since then he has been in professional practice at small to medium-sized firms in Pittsburgh PA, Takoma Park MD, San Diego CA, and Salt Lake City UT.  In 2012, Eric and his former classmate Dwight Yee founded Process Studio, a young and energetic architectural practice based in Salt Lake City.  The name “process” was a deliberate choice to represent the firm’s collaborative design approach that engages and listens to its clients and consultants, draws inspiration from precedent and context, and proposes thoughtful and modern design solutions.  Eric is licensed in both Utah and Maryland and is a LEED Accredited Professional with Specialty in Building Design and Construction.  He uses a variety of design and production tools ranging from hand sketches to Autodesk Revit.  Process Studio pursues residential, commercial, and institutional projects in Utah and the surrounding region.  They also collaborate with other small firms based in California and Maryland.  Current projects in development and construction include a lakeside vacation home at Bear Lake in Idaho, a Los Angeles bungalow renovation, and an outdoor amphitheater for the Sorenson Unity Center on 900 West.  Eric recently participated as a selected member of the Lower Park Avenue Design Studio that studied affordable housing solutions in Park City.  He also sometimes provides pro bono design services to the Weber Davis Chapter of Habitat for Humanity.  In the words of Andrew Carnegie, Eric’s “heart is in the work.”
John Ewanowski
CRSA
Graduated from University of Michigan in 2013 with my M.Arch. Moved to Utah the following fall. Got a job at CRSA, where I have been in the historic preservation studio. While preservation was not a big interest, I have found that it marries my passion for architecture with an interest in history, geography, place making. I sometimes miss the thrill of architecture school and try to supplement with drawing, reading, writing, design outside of the pressures of work. I have passed the ARE and can offer study tips. Working on IDP hours and hoping to be licensed next summer. Love skiing, watching sports, being outdoors, watching movies, hanging out with my dog in my spare time.
